Tim played on the recording session with the Sinfonia of London in their much praised recording of Korngold's Symphony in F Sharp. See a snippet of the recording session…
The Sinfonia of London is the orchestra created by John Wilson for his recording projects. This superb orchestra consists of orchestral principals and other leading freelance instrumentalists.
“This first album is a promise of great things to come….The symphony emerges as a near-masterpiece in his flexible hands, fabulously played by the musicians...The Johann Strauss pastiche is huge fun, brilliantly orchestrated. More, please.”
Tim also plays on the recently released highly praised CD, Escales (‘ports of call’). This new recording explores the unique sound world of French orchestral music of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The programme juxtaposes well-known favourites, such as Debussy's Prélude à la près-midi dun faune, Massenet’s Méditation from Thaïs, with pieces far more rarely heard, for example Duruflé’s Trois Danses and Saint-Saëns’ Le Rouet d’Omphale.
“The enthusiasm that Wilson elicits from his orchestra is very much apparent on every track, though what really impresses is the finesse as well as the virtuosity of the playing, the refinement of detail, the subtlety of texture and colour.” Review in ‘Gramophone’ magazine (February 2020).
Tim comments: “I loved playing in these superb CD recording sessions. John Wilson is a legend. We work hard but the results are stunning! We have an absolute ball!!
